hhmmm......not so sure about free. I usually register domains with GoDaddy. It's something like $7.95 per year ( Don't quote me on the price. ). But you can also put in a coupon code and get another 10% off of that. I think a good coupon code is "DIGG". That should give you 10% off. You can also do a Google search for godaddy coupon codes and you can probably find a ton more to try.

As far as email goes I think you can also get that service through godaddy as well but for an extra fee. Possible per month. Are you looking at setting up a web site and all that kind of stuff. Email addresses ( @mydomain.com ) will usually come with the hosting plan.

If you are planning on a very small web site Google will host it for free. Will also provide email address, a home page and a calendar and chat as part of the program. Go to Google apps to sign up
