My professional career started in the field of computer programming in 1976 after receiving my B.S. degree in Computer Science from Iowa State University. Roles and titles received over the years have included: programmer, senior programmer, supervising programmer, continuation and support manager, group manager, line and release manager, operations and global (offshore) development manager.
Duties and responsibilities have included: Handling modifications to switching algorithms and buffer pooling routines for an enterprise class operating system - coordinating release content and scheduling support releases of large scale systems in the operating systems - interfacing with clients to ensure responsiveness to critical and strategic client initiatives - overseeing setup and implementation of configuration management system using industry standard tooling - oversight of implementation of tooling to decrease internal build cycle time - coordination and oversight of process and procedure documentation repository project - streamlining of operational procedures to more efficiently track the day to day activities and progress of department initiatives.
